Dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Federation and the 50th anniversary of ISCRAN

In 2017, the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Federation was celebrated, the experience and history of which are studied by the members of the Russian Society for the Study of Canada (RICC), established on the initiative of the employees and leadership of ISCRAN, whose activities have been and remain inextricably linked with the development of Canadian research in ISCRAN. take an active part in the scientific activities of the Russian Society for the Study of Canada and the International Council of Canadian Studies (Ottawa, Canada) and speak at international conferences among the best Canadian experts all over the world, thereby strengthening the prestige of the scientific school of ISCRAN.


On 15-16 December, a joint RICC conference was held with the ISCRAN devoted to a wide range of issues of actual Canadian studies and Russian-Canadian relations at the current stage, in the premises of the Institute (Conference Hall at 12 Teterinsky Pereulok) and with his participation scientific employees. The conference was held in a significant year for the Institute — the 50th anniversary of the founding of ISCRAN. The proceedings of the conference will be published in the next collection of ‘Problems of Canadian Studies in Russian and Foreign Studies’ under the aegis of ISCRAN and ROIK.

The conference was opened by SM Rogov, Academician, hands. ISCRAN. Honorary President of ROIK and Garbuzov V.N., Director of ISKRAN, Professor, Doctor of History With a welcoming speech in front of the audience of members of RIKI and ISCRAN staff — professors and specialists from leading universities and research institutes — a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Russian Federation J. Coeur also took an active part in the work of the plenary session: he delivered a welcoming address addressed to the participants of the conference, students and postgraduates of ISKRAN and GAZGN. Among the Russian participants are representatives of the regional offices of the RICC. An interesting message was made by the President of the Canada-Eurasian-Russian Business Association, N. Hunt.
