About the Center

The Center for Russian-American Relations was established in May 2008. The main areas of research on the problems of Russian-American relations are the following:

a comprehensive assessment of the prospects for the development of relations between the United States and Russia in the coming century, taking into account the experience and lessons of their development in the 1990s and during the past years of the 21st century. Revealing on this basis the most likely model of Russian-American relations for the future (partnership, cold war, cold peace, controlled tension, selective cooperation).
identification and systematization of the new agenda of Russia-US relations with an emphasis on the growing importance of global problems and threats in the current system of international relations (global warming, energy, migration, the global financial crisis, civilizational aspects, etc.)
the study of regional aspects of Russian-American relations, including the prospects for cooperation in ensuring security in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, as well as in resolving old and new international conflicts and crises.
analysis of the political struggle both in the United States and in Russia around the Russian-American relations, defining the driving forces that have a major impact on the current state of relations and their future.
generalization of policy trends concerning Russia, conducted by specific administrations.
