October 31, 2019 ISKRAN Council of Young Scientists Holds a U.S. 2019 Roundtable

On October 31, 2019, the ISKRAN Council of Young Scientists held a meeting of the ‘USA in 2019’ round table, which highlighted relevant aspects of US foreign and domestic policy in 2019.
The round table was attended by young scientists and graduate students from the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences EAT. Primakov, Institute of Latin America RAS, Institute of Europe RAS, Institute of Oriental Studies RAS, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Research University Higher School of Economics, Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Among the reports on foreign policy topics, the reports of NS N.V. Stepanova (ISCRAN) and M.S. AND ABOUT. Mishina (IMEMO RAS). The first was devoted to the crisis of Russian-American relations in the field of arms control and strategic stability. The second is to the prospects for US-China rivalry in the South China Sea. The participants in the round table did not ignore the problem of the influence of the immigration factor on US domestic and foreign policy. Within the framework of this topic, reports were made by NS A.A. Filippenko (ISCRAN) and NS E.Yu. Kosevich (HSE).
Upon completion of the Round Table, its participants noted the productivity of the work in the format of a round table and decided to conduct scientific events under the auspices of the Council of Young Scientists of ISCRAN on a regular basis.
