ALEXANDRA SEMENOVNA TERENTIEVA
(September 2, 1937 – July 11, 2019)

On July 11, 2019, at the age of 81, Alexandra Semenovna Terentyeva, senior researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, American scientist, specialist in the field of American and Russian animal husbandry, candidate of biological sciences, passed away.
The whole life of Alexandra Semenovna was associated with scientific studies of agricultural problems, primarily in the field of animal husbandry economics. Having graduated with honors in 1959 from the Moscow Veterinary Academy, and then from graduate school, A.S. Terentyeva successfully defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of biological sciences. From 1964 to 1970, Alexandra Semenovna was a junior researcher at the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry, and from 1970 to 1993. – Senior and leading researcher, head of the sector at the Research Institute of Information and Technical and Economic Research in Agriculture.
The last 22 years, since 1997, the scientific activity of Alexandra Semenovna took place at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where she, as a senior researcher, was engaged in research on the economics of livestock farming in the USA. She owns numerous chapters in collective monographs, articles in leading scientific journals on this subject, which have always been highly praised by specialists and practitioners. Its analytical materials have always been in demand at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and other state bodies of our country.
Alexandra Semenovna Terentyeva worked creatively, enthusiastically, igniting others with her enthusiasm. With her scientific works, competence and responsibility, she earned the authority and respect of her colleagues at the Institute and experts in other departments.
The human qualities of Alexandra Semenovna were highly appreciated by ISCRAN employees. Kind, sympathetic, with a subtle sense of humor, she was a responsible employee and a reliable friend.
