The participants were graduate students and young researches from ISKRAN, the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS), the Institute of Latin American Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences (ILA RAS), the Institute of Europe, Russian Academy of Science (IE RAS), the Institute for African Studies, Russian Academy of Science (IAS RAS), the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) and the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far-East, Far- Eastern Branch of the RAS (IHAE FEBRAS).
The event was related to the most relevant aspects of the US foreign and domestic policy.
It`s necessary to point out a report made by Nataliya Shapiro, IMEMO RAN Research Fellow. Her report related to the current state of the arms control regime and overall strategic stability issues.
Among the reports on the US foreign policy, the report of Lyudmila Samarskaya, a Junior Research Fellow of IMEMO RAS, , on the history and current state of American-Israeli relations. The assessment of the current US policy in Latin America was highlited in the reports of ILA RAS Research Fellows, Dmitry Yeleseenko and Ilona Gritsenko.
The round-table participants paid special attention to the phenomena of the US domestic policy, which influenced the course of the 2020 presidential campaign. This topic was taken up by the following young scholars: Alexey Butorov, assistant in Theory and History of International Relations, RUDN University, Marina Chernykh, postgraduate student at ISKRAN , and Pavel Rachev, postgraduate student of the Moscow State University.
In the end of the meeting, it was decided to prepare and publish the round table proceedings.
