Scientific seminar ‘Cybersecurity issues and prospects for cooperation between Russia and the US in the field of arms control’.

The seminar was organized jointly with the Center for International Security Studies (CISSM) at the University of Maryland (USA), with which ISKRAN links many years of cooperation. In the course of the seminar, along with ISCRAN staff, the senior research officer of the CISSM, Teresa Hitchens (former Director of the UN Institute for Disarmament Research), the Director of the CISSS, Professor Nancy Gallagher, students of the School of Public Administration of the University of Maryland, took part. The seminar discussed the main problems of cybersecurity, the activities of international institutions dealing with issues in this area (in particular, the work of governmental experts of the UN and the OSCE). In addition, the seminar discussed the problems and obstacles on the way to cooperation between Russia and the United States and possible ways to overcome them.

Scientific seminar “Russian-American relations” at the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies at Georgetown University

The scientific seminar was devoted to the discussion of the foreign policy issues of the administration of D. Trump and the possibilities of interaction between the Russian Federation and the United States in the near future, including in the sphere of arms control. The seminar was headed by the head of the Center, Professor Angela Stant.

Scientific seminar ‘Internal and external policy of the administration of D. Trump’

The seminar was organized jointly with the Center for International Security Studies at the University of Maryland. The seminar discussed the problems of US domestic policy, including budget reform and tax cuts, and the issues of establishing Russian-American relations. The seminar was attended by the professor of the School of Public Administration of Maryland University Mack Dustler and the former head of the department for nuclear security and international relations in the Office of Science and Technology under the administration of Barack Obama Stephen Fetter.

Round table on Russian-American relations at the Center for Strategic and International Studies

During the round table, John Hamre, President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), expressed his assumptions about the possible construction of a constructive dialogue at the level of the Prime Minister-Vice-President, the prospects for cooperation between the two countries on Syria, arms control and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction .

Scientific seminar “Regional security on the European continent in the context of the deterioration of Russian-American relations”

The seminar was held at the Center for Military and Political Studies of the Hudson Institute (USA). The seminar touched upon the problems of regional security, the deterioration of Russian-American relations, the priorities of US foreign and domestic policy. Richard Weitz, Director of the Center for Military-Political Analysis of the Hudson Institute, took part in the seminar.
